16 Days to Our Independence Day Camp

Ten years ago we had an Independence Weekend camp (September 7th) for the whole church: men, women, children, visitors. We got away to a camp site with dormitories in the middle of nature, and it was wonderful. Everybody got to experience living for three days with God and His family, a life-changing event for all. Two people were baptized. Now in 2012, we pray to repeat the experience: September 6-9. Just sixteen days to go. Please pray with us that our Father will work through this, bringing people closer to Christ and His Eternal Purpose!

Women in Heaven

The theme of the Women’s Seminar this year was “You: Sanctuary of God”. Sixteen ladies from Paraíba saved up money, found babysitters for that weekend, left cooked food for their family or left the men to fend for themselves, made the trip to the rented Palm Tree Country House, and arrived in heaven, fellowshipping with God and with one and another. They grew spiritually, prayed, played, shared experiences, talked and chatted, cried and laughed, and talked so more, and hugged, a well deserved break from husbands and children. Ana from João Pessoa said, “It was so good, so good, I wanted it to last longer.” Well, Ana, our hope in Christ is heaven, which will be even better and it will last forever.

It Is Easy to Plan for Success When You Already Know the Ending

From Cubati I traveled to Patos for a meeting with evangelists from Emas, Patos, and Belem about their plans for establishing a congregation in Pombal.   I am helping them learn how to better plan and execute those plans, as well as, instilling in them a vision to work together as one body and to look outside of their own city for the growth of the Kingdom.                There were other congregations present, but the focus was on these three.   The steps established at this meeting to be accomplished until the next meeting were to pick three members from their congregations to train, then, begin visiting, teaching and testing them to see their growth.   Tests are not written but practical: Bible studies given, visits made, etc. and then help these members grow in their needs.   Once the training of these members begins then we can start thinking about moving on to the next step, reaching outside their city, starting new congregations, seeing God's victory firsthan
