Our family has gone through a transformation, bittersweet and painful. Our daughter, 17 years old, has moved to the US to finish high school. We came to this decision together with the purpose to help better her English for further education stateside. She is in good hands, living with Jesse and Juliana Troxler in Knoxville, TN. Juliana is her cousin who lived with us while going to the university in João Pessoa. Lydia seems to be doing great. She got on that plane all by herself as if she had been doing it all her life. It was harder for her mother and me, not so much for her brothers. They quickly appropriated her room.
