In Portuguese, the word “cre” comes from the verb “believe.” It is also the acronym: “correct, reprimand, and exhort,” chosen years ago for an event in São Paulo, an intensive weeklong course to prepare church workers in Bible knowledge. Several people from the Northeast would take the long trip to learn at CRE. But finally, the event has come to us, meaning that a lot more people can participate. This past month we had the second Northeastern CRE with around 150 people participating, representing over 50 congregations from Fortaleza to Salvador. Held at the Lar Mana orphanage in Recife, CRE also was able to help this project that helps the helpless. We met from Thursday to Sunday and studied Colossians; then some, who were able, about 30, stayed an extra three days and further deepened their Bible knowledge.
